Late-Night Dispute Turns Violent Inside Parel-Ambernath Local Train, Two Passengers Injured
A late-night dispute inside a Parel-Ambernath local train turned violent, leaving two passengers injured. The Government Railway Police has started an investigation after preliminary findings revealed that a metal bracelet caused the head injury. The incident follows a recent Mumbai local train murder case involving a passenger dispute.
Following the incident, railway staff and fellow passengers immediately assisted the injured individuals and provided initial medical aid. Both passengers were shifted on stretchers to Rukhmabai Hospital for further treatment. According to officials, one of the injured passengers sustained a serious head injury and was later referred to Sion Hospital for advanced medical care. Doctors are continuously monitoring the condition of both injured individuals.
Government Railway Police Begin Investigation
The Government Railway Police has initiated an investigation into the matter. Preliminary findings indicate that neither of the two passengers was carrying a knife or any other sharp-edged weapon during the incident.
According to police officials, the injury occurred during a physical altercation when a metal bracelet worn by one passenger struck the other passenger on the head, causing the injury. The Kalyan Government Railway Police is currently taking legal action in the case, and a detailed investigation report is awaited.
The incident comes at a time when another violent crime inside a Mumbai local train remains fresh in public memory. Last month, a fatal attack took place inside a Churchgate-Nalasopara fast local train after an argument between two passengers over keeping the train door open during rainfall.
The dispute had escalated, and the accused allegedly attacked 22-year-old Mayank Lohar with a sharp weapon, resulting in his death. Police arrested the accused, Sachin Ramesh Suvarna, after examining footage from nearly 400 CCTV cameras. The investigation revealed that the accused allegedly attacked the young man multiple times during the argument and escaped from the train before it reached Borivali Station.
The latest incident has once again raised concerns regarding passenger security and the rising risk of violent confrontations inside Mumbai suburban trains, where disputes between commuters can quickly escalate into serious incidents.
